Chiropractic
We are a traditional family chiropractic office that specializes in the correction of the spine and extremities. The human nerve system is directly responsible for the functioning of our bodies and the level of health that we express. As chiropractors we balance the spine through vertebral adjustments to ensure the nerve system is free of interference. We care for people of all ages from newborns, to teens, entire families, and the elderly, as well as pregnant women. Our Doctors specialize in several aspects of muscle-skeletal conditions including:
Acute low back and neck pain, spinal disc conditions, scoliosis, headaches, migraines, chronic spinal degeneration, asthma and allergies, ear infections, torticollis, prenatal and pregnancy conditions, shoulder and rotator cuff injuries, golfers and tennis elbow, hip-knee-ankle pain, sciatica, bursitis, and over all well-being.
Dr. Michelle’s approach uses gentle, effective chiropractic and soft tissue techniques that unlock and unwind both the skeletal and muscular systems. She uses manual (hands-on) and light instrument adjusting methods (Thompson Drop Table, Activator, Impulse, Sacro-Occipital Technique) to correct postural imbalances, spinal misalignment, and improve overall joint mobility. Through static deep tissue contacts/trigger point therapy, Neuromuscular Reeducation, and active release techniques, Dr. Michelle can release muscle tension, work through muscular adhesions in the body, and improve overall flexibility and movement. Stretching exercises are always given as part of an at-home care plan, and Dr. Michelle also examines and advises on workplace set-up, sleep position, diet, and fitness regimen.
Dr. Sean’s technique includes a hands-on approach with joint mobilization, deep tissue trigger point work, active release for both muscles and joints, and specific spinal adjustments. His philosophy is based on complete body balancing which includes cranial sacral work and fascial releasing. This wholistic approach is extremely successful in quick relief of acute pain syndromes and the solving of chronic conditions.
Neuromuscular Reeducation (NMR)
Neuromuscular Reeducation is a hands-on technique/approach for the evaluation and functional treatment of soft tissue injuries of the body. When a soft tissue area is injured – whether it’s a muscle, tendon, connective tissue, fascia, or some combination – inflammation results. The body then responds by laying down scar tissue, which is tissue that is less elastic, poorly vascularized, and results in fibrous adhesions. These adhesions occur wherever there has been tissue damage, and as a result, the involved joint is compromised in range of motion, strength, and pain is typically felt. NMR helps re-train the muscles to improve tone, elasticity, strength, and function.
An initial new patient NMR session is 45 minutes which includes a consultation, patient history, exam, and hands-on treatment. Follow-up treatments are 15-20 minutes. It can feel like focused deep tissue/trigger point work, however, the patient actively moves the involved area through specific ranges of motion as the soft tissue is being worked on. Depending on the case, results can be felt right away or after several treatments. NMR can be done along the spine and in all extremities.
